The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation held its annual Stars of Texas Gala on May 2 honoring Bill and Linda Pennington for their years of passionate service to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos.

The longtime community business leaders served on the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation board of directors and continue to maintain an inspiring record of volunteerism for the hospital’s ministry.

"Bill and Linda volunteer for a variety of community initiatives. The hospice wing at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos, generously supported by the Penningtons, has been an invaluable addition," said John Navarrette, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation board member. "Designed to resemble a comforting home environment, the wing has significantly benefited families seeking hospice care, with dedicated nursing staff providing compassionate support."

As Hays County’s premiere annual black-tie event, the Stars of Texas Gala also featured entertainment from ‘90s country cover band Straight Tequila Night. Funds raised through the gala totaled more than $188,000, which will benefit the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos radiology department for the purchase of a Trident Specimen Radiology System, an integral piece of 3D mammography equipment.
