CHRISTUS Health announced today that Monte Wilson, CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital CEO, will expand his role to oversee CHRISTUS Ochsner Southwestern Louisiana as CEO of that health system.
“Monte has been an exceptional CHRISTUS leader for the last five years, guiding us toward excellence in Associate engagement, performance objectives and various service lines,” said Chris Karam, senior vice president of group operations for CHRISTUS Health Louisiana and Southeast Texas. “I’m excited about what more we’ll accomplish with Monte’s guidance as I know he’ll lead with compassion and wisdom.”
Under Wilson’s direction, programs in cardiovascular services and cardiology, OB/GYN, oncology, outpatient infusions and graduate medical education have excelled. Wilson brings a wealth of experience from other health systems, most recently WellStar Health System in Georgia, where he focused on building effective teams and improving physician and employee engagement while pursuing opportunities for growth and bridging departmental gaps in patient care.
“It’s an honor to lead CHRISTUS Ochsner Southwestern Louisiana,” Wilson said. “I’m deeply committed to building on our legacy of compassionate care, expanding access to innovative health services, and strengthening our partnerships throughout the region to better serve every patient and family.”
As part of CHRISTUS Health, CHRISTUS Ochsner Southwestern Louisiana is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system serving the southwest Louisiana community with two hospitals and nearly 1,300 Associates.
Wilson is past board chairman and a member of the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce, regional trustee of the Louisiana Hospital Association, board member of the Central Louisiana Community Foundation and board member of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana.
