The unit also has two surgical suites and a post-anesthesia care unit to facilitate cesarean deliveries. Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, caring for approximately 25,000 patients each year. We have 18 treatment rooms and 4 specialized treatment rooms equipped to accommodate multiple levels of care, from minor complaints to more serious injury and illness.

Our advanced level trauma center allows us to quickly manage the care of injured patients and to provide stabilization to those requiring transport to a higher-level facility through an on-site air medical helicopter.

CHRISTUS Health – Mount Pleasant is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Primary stroke centers can diagnose and treat complex stroke patients with a wide array of technology and procedures.
